The world of GTA VI — the State of Leonida, Vice City, and the five confirmed counties. All information sourced from official trailers and Rockstar Games.
The State of Leonida is GTA VI's fictional Florida analogue — a sun-soaked state covering Vice City and its surrounding regions. Confirmed in Trailer 1 (December 2023), Leonida spans five counties from the urban east coast to the southern island chain. The map is expected to be the largest open world in GTA history.
The most densely populated county in Leonida, home to Vice City — the game's Miami-inspired metropolis. Encompasses the city's downtown skyline, South Beach analog, port district, and surrounding suburbs.
The central county of the state, featuring inland suburban sprawl and rural communities. Seen in trailer footage showing highways, strip malls, and classic Florida suburban landscapes.
A western gulf coast county featuring coastal towns and industrial areas. Less prominent in trailer footage but confirmed by county road signs visible in Trailer 1.
The southwestern county of Leonida, featuring wetland terrain consistent with the Florida Everglades. Trailer footage shows extensive swampland, rural roads, and Florida-style communities.
The southernmost county in Leonida, consisting of an island chain analogous to the Florida Keys. Features a distinctive highway bridge connecting the island chain to the mainland.
The primary setting of GTA VI — a sprawling Miami-inspired coastal metropolis returning from GTA: Vice City (2002). Features a downtown skyline, art deco beach strip, port district, and diverse neighborhoods. The largest city in the State of Leonida and the hub of the game's criminal underworld.
Vice City's iconic oceanfront strip — analogous to Miami's South Beach / Ocean Drive. Trailer footage shows neon-lit art deco hotels, palm-lined boulevards, and beach boardwalks.
The commercial port district visible in Trailer 2. A key location for criminal operations in the game, featuring shipping containers, docks, and maritime infrastructure.
Extensive swampland and wetland terrain visible throughout Trailer 1 — Leonida's Everglades analog. Features airboats, wildlife (alligators, herons), and rural communities deep in the swamps.
Additional locations will be added as Rockstar reveals more of the world ahead of the November 19, 2026 release. For an interactive view, see the Map.
