How big is the GTA 6 map?

Updated 2026-09-14
GTA VI is set in the State of Leonida, Rockstar’s fictional Florida, centered on Vice City — a modern Miami analogue. Rockstar has not published official map dimensions, but trailer analysis and community mapping projects consistently estimate the playable area at roughly twice the size of GTA V’s Los Santos and Blaine County.

The setting: Leonida

Leonida is a full state, not just a city. Rockstar has confirmed six regions: Vice City (Miami), the Leonida Keys (Florida Keys), Grassrivers (the Everglades), Port Gellhorn (Gulf-coast panhandle), Ambrosia (rural factories and refineries held by a biker gang), and Mount Kalaga National Park (northern wilderness). The map is roughly twice the size of GTA V with far more interiors and interaction.

Size estimates — and their limits

Rockstar has never released square-mileage figures before launch, so every size claim you see is an estimate. Community mapping projects, which reconstruct the map by cross-referencing trailer frames and screenshots, converge on roughly 1.5–2× GTA V’s landmass with substantially more enterable interiors. Treat exact numbers as provisional until the game ships.

Our interactive map plots points of interest, landmarks, and enterable buildings onto a community-reconstructed map of Leonida. Marker positions are estimates until the game ships — we will verify them against the in-game map and swap in the official map at launch.
